Our feet are planted in Fairhope, Alabama, at our fish camp located on Weeks Bay. Our family is led by Capt. Lyons Bousson Sr. and Michelle Bousson, two of the finest folks you’ll ever meet in your life. Then there are the petites: Our twins, Capt. Lyons Bousson Jr and Capt. Mary Michael Bousson, and the caboose- Bay Bousson. We also have six dogs- Brandy, Dotty, Sugar, Weezy, Trout, and Mullet. Together we run two family businesses: Fairhope Charters and Fairhope Rattle. Fairhope Charters is a father, son, and daughter inshore fishing operation. In the summer time, you can catch us fishing all around Mobile Bay and the Alabama Gulf Coast for redfish, speckled trout, triple tail, and tarpon. In the winter, you can find us at our hunting camp in Burnt Corn, Alabama chasing down almost anything with fur or feathers, with a big pot of cornbread on the stove.
Capt. Lyons Bousson Sr. Lyons Sr. is the steadfast leader of our family. He is the Regional Gulf Coast Sales Manager for Acme Brick by day, popping cork marker for Fairhope Rattle by night, and a fishing guide for Fairhope Charters on the weekends. More important than that, he is the best dad ever! He has spent nearly his whole life fishing and living on Mobile Bay, and I swear he has saltwater in his veins. He enjoys the finer things in life, like the yellow mouths of a speckled trout, the breathtaking leap of a tarpon, cheering on loved ones as they kill a deer, a big pot of gumbo, an Auburn Tigers touch down, a sack of raw oysters, air conditioning, and spending as much time with family as possible.
Michelle “Sassy” Bousson
We all call her “Mama”or “Sassy”, but she is the popping cork queen. She is also a junkin’ queen, a fishing machine, a huntress, a crazy dog lady, and the most loving person you will ever meet! Mama is the glue that holds it all together. She’s the perfect southern women, never to be caught without her red lips, and always has her arms around the people she loves. She pours her all her love into everything she does, I hope you feel the extra love the next time you pick up a Fairhope Rattle. From production, packaging, distribution, and marketing— this sweet lady does it all!
Capt. Lyons Bousson Jr.
Lyons Jr is 23 years old, and is the oldest of the petites. If you can’t find him outside, chances are you won’t find him anywhere. If it has anything to do with ducks, dove, turkeys, deer, redfish, speckled trout, triple tail, or tarpon— he’s there. Lyons Jr received his captains license in his father’s footsteps in 2016, and also takes inshore fishing charters. He is currently one quarter from graduating from Columbia Southern University with a Business Administration Degree. Lyons Jr is hardworking, kind, and absolutely hilarious. You won't find anyone who can make you laugh harder. Fairhope Rattle wouldn’t be Fairhope Rattle without him.
Bay is the youngest of the petites, and completes our family. He’s 17 years old, a natural leader, and wise beyond his years. Bay has a natural knack for entrepreneurship, and hold his own commercial crabbing license. He is infamous for running his crab traps in his 14’ Carolina Skiff with his white lab “Sugar”, and selling his blue crabs at the local fish houses. He is possibly the funniest guy you’ll ever meet. He will do anything to make someone laugh or smile.
Capt. Mary Michael Bousson Captain Mary Michael was born on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. She is a true daddy’s girl and took a knack for the outdoor life at a very young age. Mary Michael never let school get in the way of fishing and hunting. Often times, she and her twin brother would hunt and fish both before and after school. After graduating high school Mary Michael obtained her 100 Ton Captains License, to follow in the family’s foot steps and share what she loves most with other women and children. After that, she graduated college from Columbia Southern University with a Business Administration/Marketing Degree. She spends most of her days working for Fairhope Rattle, or making beautiful custom fishing rods. If she isn’t doing either of those, she is most likely playing her guitar on the boat dock, watching her 5 labs (Trout, Weezy, Moe, Brandy, and Sugar) swim. Mary Michael is such a blessing to the Bousson Family. -Capt. Lyons Sr. (Dad)
